Real Voices of Freedom Mortgage Reviews

Zillow (origination-focused), high scores on origination

Rating: 4.79 out of 5.0 based on 1,884 reviews.

Zillow reviews often reflect positive origination experiences (loan officers, speed of closing, competitive rates). Many borrowers praise specific loan officers and origination teams.

WalletHub (servicing-focused), low scores on servicing

Rating: 1.7 out of 5.0 based on 588 reviews.

WalletHub and other servicing-centric review sources show substantially lower scores due to servicing frustrations. This divergence highlights that user experience can differ sharply between loan origination and servicing.

They messed up my credit payment checks, resulting in a delay to my remodeling! When I tried to fix the issue, the lack of accountability left me baffled. I would highly recommend you do your research first!

Beware of this company. I sold my home and account has been closed, but they still report my account as Deliquent to credit bureau. They did this 3 times to me. I had to chase them to correct it each time Their system is broken and report customers as Deliquent even after selling their homes. Another time I was on autopay, but their system did not pull right amount and again reported as Deliquent. I honestly ask you to avoid this company. They are causing me lot of stress and time waste.

Downright harassment from these individuals. My mortgage was sold to them without my knowledge. Every week, I receive multiple calls asking if I would like to use the equity in my house. No, I want to pay off my house and be done with these nuisances! I have asked them to stop calling and have blocked several of their numbers, but they continue to call. Fortunately, the emails go to spam, but I am very tired of their tactics.

Trustpilot, mixed

Rating: 4.0 out of 5.0 based on 556 reviews.

Trustpilot typically records a mix of positive origination stories and negative servicing reports. The overall score tends to be middling.

We've been with Freedom Mortgage for over 19 years. We've refi-ed a couple of times to get a lower interest rate, and dropped from a 30 year mortgage to a 15 year. Our loan officers were all excellent, and very helpful and professional. Overall, EXCELLENT Customer Service, and the BEST VA Rates in the industry. Thank you Freedom Mortgage.

The company is ok, although, the fact that escrow goes up without early notifications so sticks, then you have to make payments that cost you on your principal payments. Good company but they could help notify you earlier.

I wanted to make changes to my monthly payment and the system was so crap that it deleted my ACH option. On reaching to support the only response is that ACH is temporarily disabled and there is no definite answer on when this would work again. All the cases submitted are closed without any resolution or proper follow up. One of the very worst customer services in this age
